What Does Being a Preferred Provider Mean?

Health funds use terms such as preferred provider, Members First, Members’ Choice, Choice Network and More for Teeth for arrangements they have with participating dental practices.

The exact benefits vary between health funds and policies, but these arrangements are generally designed to help members get more value from their eligible Extras cover and, for some treatments and policies, reduce their out-of-pocket expenses.

It is important to remember that being a preferred provider does not mean every dental treatment will automatically be covered or have no gap. Your rebate will depend on your health fund, level of cover, waiting periods, annual limits, treatment and any other conditions attached to your policy.

Easy HICAPS Claims at Your Appointment

For participating health funds, we can process your eligible dental claim electronically through HICAPS at the time of your appointment.

Simply bring your health fund membership card or other compatible digital membership details with you. Where an on-the-spot claim is available, your health fund benefit can be processed and you will generally only need to pay any remaining balance.

Not With One of Our Preferred Providers?

That’s absolutely fine.

Lakeside Dental Spa welcomes members of all private health funds. You do not need to belong to one of our preferred provider funds to visit our Hervey Bay dental practice.

If your health fund participates in HICAPS and your policy provides benefits towards your treatment, we can generally process your claim at the practice.
