Lakeside Dental Spa 4 kids welcomes children as our practice is very kid-friendly. We can offer a range of different treatments including preventative dental care and more specialized procedures including early orthodontics and treatment for tongue tie. We want your kids to be able to enjoy the benefits of a healthy smile from early childhood right into adulthood.
What Age Should My Child Visit a Dentist?
The most ideal time to visit the dentist is actually well before the birth of the infant. It may come as a surprise to some people, but a prenatal consultation with your dentist is highly advisable in order to prepare the expecting mum for correct breast feeding positions, habits and traits that can affect the growth of the dental arches.
If this milestone has been missed, we advise you book your child’s first dental appointment soon after birth or at the latest before they get their first tooth. This might seem very early but it helps them get accustomed to visiting the dentist so they hopefully grow up without any fears or phobias. Our dental therapist and resident child health professional is great with young children and we all work hard to make sure every visit is stress-free and relaxed.
What is Preventative Dentistry?
Preventative dentistry is the best and easiest way to keep your child’s teeth free from any problems and includes regular check-ups and oral hygiene education as well as treatments such as fissure sealants and fluoride treatments that reduce tooth decay. Lakeside Dental Spa can work with you and your child to keep their teeth healthy and we can offer advice on lots of different dental-related subjects including tooth care at home and diet.
Check if your kids are eligible to receive free dentistry of up to $1052 under the government’s Child Dental Benefit Schedule (CDBS). At Lakeside Dental Spa Hervey Bay, we bulk bill for CDBS, so there are no out of pocket expenses for you.
