Fraser Shores Family Dental FAQs

Will my dental treatment be pain free?
Unfortunately no dental treatment is completely free of discomfort. However our fully trained dentists and dental nurses will do everything they can to minimise the amount of discomfort that you may feel.

You can be sure that your comfort and wellbeing is of the utmost importance to us.

What is teeth whitening?
This process involves the removal of stains and discolouration from teeth and improving their colour to make them look more white. Teeth that have become dark with age or poor hygiene can be brightened by approximately two to three shades.

Does everyone benefit from teeth whitening?
Results are case-dependent upon the extent of staining and the duration of the application.

Our dentists will be able to advise you on whether or not your smile will benefit from having your teeth treated to remove the stains etc.

Why would I need Crowns or Bridges?
There are times when the best solution to replace large fillings that have become worn over the years or repair a cracked tooth involves the fitting of a Crown. Crowns may also be used if natural teeth are malformed or so discoloured that they will not benefeit from teeth whitening.

A crown covers the affected tooth or teeth and provides increased protection for the tooth that it covers.

A Bridge is made up of two crowns fitted to the teeth on either side of a gap that may have been left after an extraction. The gap is filled with a false tooth that is supported by the Bridge.
